Parkfield Earthquake

A 6.0 magnitude earthquake occurred at 10:15 a.m. on September 28 in Parkfield, CA along the San Andreas Fault. It was followed by numerous aftershocks, including a 5.0 magnitude aftershock at 10:19 a.m. The California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services was in constant communication with the Monterey County and San Luis Obispo County offices of emergency services immediately after the earthquake and received no reports of injuries or significant damage. The US Geological Survey put out an aftershock advisory, which is routine following most earthquakes.
