Border Security Worktable
The Border Security Worktable supports collaboration among the ten Border States on key security issues such as information sharing, technology and personnel, with the common goal of preparedness and security to ensure the smooth, safe and continued flow of goods, services, and people across our shared border. As a part of the development and implementation of its General Plan for border security, the worktable is constantly assessing information exchange practices, to include, the interoperability of voice, data and video communications, as well as the expansion and enhancement of bi-national joint operational activities and training opportunities. In addition, the worktable is currently working to identify and develop effective information exchange mechanisms to reduce, and ultimately eradicate, the sale and falsification of identification documents, and the trafficking of bulk cash, drugs, humans and firearms.
